Tom comes off as a tasteful guy. If you ever have a chance to sit down with him and talk about comics, you’ll find him attentive and insightful. He often provides helpful advice about your work and if you follow it, it will make your creation better.
But if you read his work, you’ll soon realize that he’s a weirdo. There’s mayhem, stuff flying everywhere, strange creatures and uncomfortable situations.
I once had to put one of his books down, shakily drink a glass of water and leave the house for an hour. When I got back, the book had wrecked the place.
He’s like Jekyll & Hyde, if they were 8 feet tall and wore size 14 shoes.
